We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Tax Supervisor to join our profitable regional CPA firm. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs technical tax review and approval of all tax returns and governmental tax examinations.
- Assumes full responsibility for larger and more complex tax returns and delegates tasks as necessary.
- Demonstrates thorough knowledge and proficiency in advanced technical tax skills necessary for client advising.
- Ensures all tasks related to client service are accomplished within budgeted time.
- Participates actively in client meetings and engages in tax planning efforts to support the Auditing and Accounting Department.
- Acts as a knowledge resource for tax-related issues for both tax preparers/specialists and A&A staff.
- Assumes tax preparation responsibilities for complex business returns.
- Manages client service for specific clients and communicates tax developments impacting them.
- Oversees the flow of tax returns through the preparation system to ensure timely and correct delivery.
- Responsible for delegation and management of governmental tax examinations with authority to represent clients before taxing authorities.
- Ensures adherence to billing and collection processes.
- Engages in firm's development efforts through involvement with referral sources and community and industry activities.
Qualifications:
- At least five to seven years' experience in public accounting with proven progression in tax complexity, scope, and research.
- Experience in international consulting and compliance.
- Familiarity with US domestic and international tax compliance forms for HNW individuals, passthrough entities, and corporations.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting.
- A current and valid certified public accountant’s license or JD.
- Minimum one year experience supervising and directing work of tax preparers.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in taxation.
- In-depth knowledge of international tax concepts including Subpart F, GILTI, PFIC, foreign tax credit calculations, and use of income tax treaties.
