Senior Tax Specialist - R&D

We are seeking a Senior Tax Specialist to join our Research & Development (R&D) group. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead planning, execution, and management of R&D tax credit projects ensuring adherence to budget and timelines.
  • Conduct detailed review and preparation of R&D tax credit calculations and associated forms.
  • Handle IRS and other tax authority inquiries efficiently to mitigate client concerns.
  • Engage with clients to conduct technical interviews, provide consulting advice, and build relationships.
  • Develop and oversee junior staff to help them grow professionally while contributing to the firm’s goals.
  • Compose and deliver comprehensive technical memorandums and client correspondence.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • 2 to 4 years of proven experience in public accounting or R&D tax consultancy.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a master’s degree in a related field.
  • Current and valid CPA license or active pursuit of the license through state exams.
  • Solid understanding of multistate credits and incentives with specialization in R&D tax credits.
  • Strong foundation in US GAAP, tax compliance, and general accounting principles.
