Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performing a technical review and approval of all tax returns and governmental tax examinations with complete accuracy.
- Assuming comprehensive responsibility for major tax filings and delegating preparation tasks as necessary.
- Exhibiting deep knowledge and proficiency in advanced technical skills for client advisement.
- Managing client services and ensuring tasks are completed within the allocated budget.
- Overseeing and managing tax research projects to deliver precise and efficient outcomes.
- Handling and leading governmental tax examinations, including direct representation of clients before taxing authorities.
- Maintaining knowledge of all tax staff qualifications to optimize assignment appropriateness and productivity.
- Supervising tax staff and conducting on-the-job training to enhance skills and knowledge.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Minimum of five to seven years of proven experience in public accounting with escalating complexity in tax management.
- At least one year of supervisory experience directing the work of tax preparers.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting is mandatory.
- Current and valid CPA license is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in taxation is highly preferred.
- Prior experience in a managerial role within a CPA firm is desirable.
