Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan, execute, and complete tax projects effectively while managing multiple client engagements and adhering to budget constraints.
- Prepare and review R&D Tax Credit calculations, ensure compliance and accuracy in all processes.
- Conduct detailed tax research, prepare technical memorandums, and generate comprehensive client correspondence.
- Handle inquiries and audits from the IRS and other tax authorities with professionalism and expertise.
- Provide support in other capacities within the Specialty Tax Services group, ensuring a versatile and comprehensive service offering to clients.
- Develop and supervise junior staff, guiding them through complex tax issues and fostering a learning environment.
- Engage in client management and practice development activities to expand and elevate firm services.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- 2 to 4 years of professional experience in public accounting, with a solid focus on R&D tax credits.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Active CPA license or in the process of obtaining one through scheduled CPA exams.
- Profound understanding of federal taxation, state R&D Tax Credits, and tax compliance protocols.
- Adept at US GAAP, general accounting principles, and both entity and individual tax returns.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous exposure to multistate credits and incentives, especially in R&D.
- Demonstrable experience in leading and managing multiple engagement teams.
- Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills to deliver optimal tax solutions.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to navigate client relations and team interactions effectively.
- Strong leadership qualities and a proactive approach to handling complex tax situations.
