We are seeking a seasoned Senior Tax Accountant to join our well-established CPA firm based in Irvine, CA. This role involves a variety of diversified accounting and tax assignments, ensuring the candidate will engage with multiple facets of the business under professional supervision. Ideal candidates will be detail-oriented, efficient, and capable of meeting stringent deadlines while maintaining accuracy in high-pressure environments. This position requires in-office attendance with no option for remote work, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and direct collaboration within our business casual environment.
Salary: DOE per year
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare payroll tax, sales tax, other local tax, and specific personal income tax returns.
- Compile comprehensive work papers and other accounting reports to support financial and tax records.
- Apply Internal Revenue Code and tax regulations effectively to client situations and prepare accurate financial documentation.
- Communicate current task progress to supervisors and take initiative in suggesting and implementing methods to improve task completion and organizational efficiency.
- Handle fairly complex high net worth individual returns and various corporate tax scenarios including S corps and fiduciary operations.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience in a licensed CPA firm (excluding internships).
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required, unless presenting significant relevant experience in lieu of degree.
- Proven ability to organize work, prioritize tasks, and meet strict deadlines.
- Complete work efficiently and accurately, with attention to detail in fast-paced environments.
- Mandatory residency within commuting distance to Irvine, CA, and authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or EA (Enrolled Agent) certification preferred.
- Extensive experience with S corps, fiduciary, and complex high net worth individual returns.
Skills:
- Strong proficiency with computer use, including spreadsheet software programs.
- Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and personal income taxes.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Capability to work independently and proactively seek new tasks and responsibilities.
- Critical thinker with a logical approach to problem-solving.
