Senior Tax Accountant

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs technical reviews and provides approval for tax returns and governmental tax examinations of varying complexity.
  • Assumes ultimate responsibility for substantial tax return engagements, delegating components thereof as appropriate.
  • Exhibits extensive knowledge and proficiency in advanced technical skills essential for client advisory and guidance.
  • Ensures client service commitments are met, driving assignments to completion within agreed budgetary constraints.
  • Oversees and directs tax research initiatives, ensuring outputs are accurate and delivered efficiently.
  • Manages governmental tax examinations and may act as a representative before tax authorities.
  • Overseas tax staff members, assigns appropriate review responsibilities and leads on-the-job training.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years' experience in a public accounting environment with demonstrable growth in tax complexity and scope.
  • At least one year’s experience in supervising and directing the work of other tax preparers.
  • Essential: Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • Demonstrate strong command over tax laws with the ability to translate these laws into actionable, client-specific advice.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in taxation.
  • Experience across multiple tax jurisdictions and understanding of nuanced tax regulations.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in managing teams and development of tax preparers.
