Job Purpose
The purpose of this job is to develop and sustain integrated hardware and software/database applications for the U.S. Navy and other federal and commercial customers.
Duties and Responsibilities
As a Senior Solutions Architect, you will use your expertise and experience to deliver innovative solutions and services to our customers. You will also have the opportunity to work and grow your expertise with a team of software engineering and cyber security professionals working to tackle the operational challenges and cyber defense issues of the modern military with creative and innovative solutions. The ideal candidate will bring past experience and knowledge of Navy logistics and financial systems, as well as hands-on experience with integrating commercially available hardware and software to improve business processes.
The job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
? Analyze complex business and technical problems related to the implementation of new technology and/or the customization of existing technologies.
? Work with customers to determine system requirements
? Review and assess existing enterprise data-driven applications to support new features, performance improvements, upgrades, and support ongoing sustainment.
? Author and/or review architecture/design and other technical documents ensuring high quality deliverables and systems development across tech stacks and applications teams.
? Manage a team of developers, programmers and system analysts to meet deliverables,
? Plan and conduct database architecture assessments, database configuration and performance tuning
? Analyze systems to determine performance bottlenecks, application bugs, and opportunities to improve efficiency
? Ensure system compliance with applicable government directives regarding cyber security
? Participate in all aspects of the application lifecycle: requirements analysis & definition, system design, implementation, testing, deployment, and sustainment
? Participate in activities that ensure the successful use of these systems including: developing documentation, and training materials

Qualifications
Preferred candidates will have some or all of the following:
? Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science.
? Certification(s): Current CompTIA Security+ (DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 preferred)
? Demonstrable ability to self-manage time and priorities in a matrix environment while maintaining high-quality deliverables for oneself as well as the team.
? Demonstrable ability to communicate in verbal/written and diagrams formats to technical and non-technical audiences of varying skillset and seniority.
? Experience developing applications using Microsoft tools such as SharePoint, Office, Access, SQL, and other standard desktop platforms
? Experience with some or all of the following:
o Java EE and Spring frameworks.
o ORM Frameworks: Hibernate and JPA.
o JavaScript Frameworks: AngularJS and JQuery.
o Code Quality systems: SonarQube, PMD, FindBugs, CheckStyle, JSLint
o Web Services/ESB/Integration technologies, including SOAP and REST based services.
o Application Servers such as JBoss, Weblogic or Tomcat.
? Experience designing data-driven applications using DBMS, RDBMS, and Hadoop
? Experience leading development teams in Agile/Scrum, Continuous Integration and Test Driven development environments
? Experience in more than one IT discipline such as web/mobile application architecture/design, software/hardware/network device integration, middleware/integration architecture/design within/across enterprises, information security architecture/design, and database architecture/design is a plus.
? Experience with Jira/Confluence/Bitbucket, or Open Source frameworks is helpful
? Experience with .NET platform (C#, WCF, etc.) is preferred
? Understanding of Navy logistics and business systems, such as NCTSS, LOGCOP, R-Supply, STARS/SABRS, FSM, and STORES
