Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the National Sales Director of a privately held, non-asset-based organization. Our client is a leading global logistics provider, in business for over 40 years, offering a wide range of customized logistics solutions covering international freight forwarding, inland distribution, and supply chain logistics support.

The Sales Manager / Executive will be responsible to acquire new international freight forwarding clients through direct meetings and management of current accounts & relationships. Will use a consultative selling strategy in their target market to understand the customers’ business and will propose a series of solutions and capabilities to meet or exceed their needs. This position is responsible to coordinate the complete sales cycle process including lead generation, prospect qualification, RFQs, proposal preparation and presentation, contract signing, start-up and customer service follow-up after the sale. The challenge is to close new accounts, increase brand recognition and improve profitability.

Background Required:
  • International freight forwarding sales (5+ years)
  • Demonstrated track record of sales success
  • Excellent knowledge of local/regional markets and competitive landscape
  • Multimodal (e.g., Air & Ocean, imports, exports)
  • Business plan preparation and execution
  • Bids and proposals preparation
  • Negotiations
  • Time, territory, and contact management
  • Travel up to 50%
  • Lead generation systems: Panjiva, Datamyne, ZoomInfo
  • Computer systems: Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Education: High School Degree or Equivalent
  • Residence: Chicago, IL
