Position Summary
The Senior Sales Engineer is responsible for developing new business opportunities, growing existing customer accounts, and increasing revenue through the sale of capital equipment, replacement parts, aftermarket services, and engineered solutions. This position combines technical expertise with consultative selling and requires close collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and customer support teams.
Essential Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans for assigned customers and target markets.
- Generate new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, customer visits, and industry events.
- Prepare quotations, proposals, and responses to RFQs while coordinating technical and commercial solutions.
- Serve as the primary customer contact throughout the sales and project lifecycle.
- Support aftermarket sales including replacement parts, service, warranty, and repair opportunities.
- Maintain CRM records, sales forecasts, and account development plans.
- Partner with engineering and operations to ensure customer requirements are achieved.
- Monitor industry trends and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance customer satisfaction and market competitiveness.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of technical sales or business development experience with engineered products.
- Experience selling commercial vehicle, transportation, industrial equipment, or related products is highly desirable.
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, relationship management, and project coordination skills.
- Experience using CRM software and managing complex sales cycles.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available.
Travel
Travel of approximately 50% to 75% is expected. Remote candidates may be considered based on experience and location.
