The Reliability Engineer position is a high impact position supporting multiple locations. This role will provide support to manufacturing locations both in the US and Asia and will be required to travel. This role will play a critical part in identifying root causes of reliability concerns, implementing reliability practices for maintaining equipment, identifying areas of improvement, leading projects to reduce process downtown and leveraging site learning across our footprint. This role presents the opportunity to define and implement the approach to reliability at multiple sites that are critical to the supply chain for our customers and thus requires reliable operation.

  • Lead problem solving projects to implement improvements in process or equipment reliability. Ensure management of the change process is followed and all required tasks are completed.
  • Drive improvement in the reduction or elimination of plant equipment failures by identifying failure causes, reviewing process data and equipment information. Develop, recommend and implement solutions in design, maintenance procedures or equipment selections.
  • Facilitate FMEAs, Risk assessments or other structured problem solving approaches to identify equipment reliability gaps.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision at a site while being an ambassador and champion for the implementation of Reliability Principles and Practices across the company.
  • Develop and implement changes to maintenance PM procedures, reliability or operational procedures for equipment
  • Determined required maintenance schedules and frequencies to ensure reliable equipment operation
  • Support plant maintenance and operational groups by providing technical guidance on equipment operation and maintenance procedures
  • Collect equipment data from drawings, equipment manufacturers, and plant floor installations to improve and optimize existing equipment data systems including:
    • Engineering Bill of Materials
    • Instrument and Equipment Data sheets
    • Electronic Maintenance system
  • Evaluate equipment critical spare parts needs, identify parts, suppliers and set up inventory tracking and order points.
  • Develop and provide training on maintenance procedures.
  • Drive Safety and Quality improvement projects currently unstaffed.
  • Successfully complete all required training.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of system based reliability management in Semiconductor, Chemical or Pharmaceutical industry.
  • BS Eng (ME, EE, ChE),
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally to support reliability initiatives
  • Experience leading root cause investigations and generating reports with clear executive summaries and clear action items and recommendations.
  • Experience leading failure analysis and training maintenance personnel to participate in failure analysis.
  • Experience generating and analyzing critical KPI’s including MTTR, MTBF, Total Maintenance cost per asset.
  • Effective verbal and written communication, with good mediation skills. Must be collaborative and comfortable working in a team environment
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment schematics, PIDs, and construction drawings
  • Leading projects designed to reduce unplanned downtime or Asset maintenance cost.
  • Experience with predictive maintenance using, vibration analysis, Oil analysis, thermography analysis and Operating parameter analysis.
  • Experience in driving towards zero unplanned downtime.
  • Generation of critical spare part recommendations based on historical data and uptime versus cost requirements.
  • Valid employment authorization in the U.S. and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future. This position is not open for non-immigrant visa sponsorship
  • Employee will need to reside in either NJ, CA, FL, or PA

Preferred Qualifications

  • Shop floor experience with maintenance and operations in a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of high purity gas installation techniques, and practices a plus.
  • Experience with ground up implementation of CMMS
  • Experience with SAP PM
  • Experience training Maintenance technicians to utilize CMMS
  • Experience with reliability data mining in CMMS to generate reliability projects
  • Knowledge and training in Six Sigma/LEAN
