About Our Client:
Our rapidly growing Toronto-based client in the real estate and property space is looking for a Senior Property Accountant to join their team. The Senior Property Accountant, will be responsible for the following tasks:
ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Director of Property Accounting, the Senior Property Accountant is responsible for
- Monthly and quarterly financial reporting, including financial statements and operating costs
- Journal entries / accruals; ensuring accurate revenue recognition
- Bank reconciliations and cash flow forecasting
- CAM and Tax adjustments; HST returns
- Coordinating preparation of the annual property budget
- Preparing variance, trend and other required ad-hoc analysis
- Supporting the external audit process and providing guidance to junior staff
Qualifications
- Post secondary education in accounting, finance or business
- 3 + years' full-cycle accounting experience, in real-estate / property management
- 1+ years of CAM and Tax Recovery Experience
- Intermediate Excel skills and a strong aptitude for systems
- Enrollment in the CPA program is preferred
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational abilities
- Positive attitude towards being in office
