Our client is a nationally recognized leader in energy performance contracting, engineering, and infrastructure solutions, delivering complex design-build and energy efficiency projects for commercial, institutional, utility, and government clients. As they continue to expand their Energy Division, they are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of energy performance and infrastructure projects while serving as the primary point of contact for clients, internal teams, and project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Overview
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading the successful execution of small to mid-sized energy projects, or key portions of larger, more complex initiatives. This position oversees project planning, financial performance, client relationships, contract administration, risk management, and project delivery while ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and aligned with client expectations.
Working closely with engineering, estimating, procurement, subcontractors, and construction teams, this individual plays a key role in coordinating project execution from kickoff through closeout. Success in this role requires strong leadership, financial management, communication skills, and the ability to build lasting client relationships while delivering high-quality project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the successful delivery of small to mid-sized energy performance and infrastructure projects, or major portions of larger, more complex initiatives.
- Maintain overall responsibility for project financial performance, schedule, quality, and client satisfaction.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients while serving as the primary point of contact throughout project execution.
- Manage project budgets, cost reporting, revenue forecasting, change orders, and financial performance.
- Develop and manage project cash flow, including schedules of values and client invoicing.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure projects remain aligned with scope, schedule, and budget objectives.
- Organize and lead project meetings with clients, subcontractors, and internal project teams.
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure efficient project delivery.
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimize financial exposure and project impacts.
- Manage project documentation and contract requirements from project kickoff through final closeout.
- Coordinate communications regarding project scope, schedule, and deliverables with subcontractors, clients, and project stakeholders.
- Support a collaborative, solutions-focused project environment that drives successful client outcomes.
Leadership & Team Collaboration
- Lead cross-functional project teams through all phases of project execution.
- Coordinate closely with engineering, estimating, procurement, construction, and field personnel.
- Foster collaborative relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and client representatives.
- Promote accountability, communication, and proactive problem-solving across project teams.
- Support continuous improvement and operational excellence throughout project delivery.
Required Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
- 5+ years of project management experience within ESCO, MEP, commercial construction, or energy infrastructure environments.
- Experience leading construction teams and coordinating multidisciplinary project stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of HVAC, lighting, controls, water systems, power generation, and integrated building systems.
- Demonstrated project management experience with budgets, forecasting, scheduling, and financial reporting.
- Strong knowledge of commercial construction processes, building codes, permitting, and project delivery methodologies.
- Experience managing contracts, subcontractors, project documentation, and change orders.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, presentation, and client relationship management skills.
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to manage project profitability and cash flow.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, ERP systems, and project management software.
Work Environment
- Based in Greater Baltimore Area.
- Opportunity to manage diverse energy performance and infrastructure projects while collaborating with multidisciplinary project teams.
- Occasional travel to project sites and client meetings as required.
- Work Authorization / Pre-Employment Requirements
- Successful completion of background checks, drug screening, and professional reference checks required.
- Positions involving driving require a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
