As a Senior Project Manager
You Will…
Be responsible for all aspects of assigned projects, including management of scope, budget, risk, resources, plan/timeline, internal communications and external client communications. You will take leadership accountability for project teams and be responsible and accountable for overall success of project as well as identifying opportunities to increase revenue by offering clients software and services solutions.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Determining staffing needs for projects, and working with resource management and other project managers to coordinate assignment of staff to projects. This may include working with a small number of subcontractors and/or partners in a relatively simple fashion as needed.
- Encouraging and fostering individual professional growth, as well as teamwork among project staff.
- Working with pre-sales, Business Unit Manager, and Legal to prepare services contracts
- Ensuring all assigned projects comply with company processes
- Participating in or leading, knowledge-sharing activities and making contributions to the company knowledge-base. This may include working with and/or providing presentations to Services, Marketing, Sales, and Pre-sales groups within the company
- Assisting or shadow other Project Managers in large projects.
- Ensuring internal and external client escalation procedures are followed in a timely manner for prompt problem resolution on projects.
- Proactively maintaining an understanding of company solutions and architectures, including competitive analysis. Developing a deeper level of understanding as needed to meet project requirements. This may include building and maintaining strong ties with other corporate resources.
- Working with pre-sales to help qualify solution sales opportunities. Providing services time/effort estimates and project plans for use in proposals.
- Providing client presentations regarding methodologies, value proposition, and project management processes.
- Building new and leverages existing client contacts to identify new business opportunities
- Providing input into consulting group processes and procedures.
- Mentoring other Project Managers as assigned.
- Participation Project Management team review of PMO processes, and actively develops/contributes material to PMO as assigned.
You Have:
- English and French Fluency is a Must
- Bachelors Degree, preferably in Business or Computer Science.
- PMP, PMBOK or formal PM training (PMI) is desirable.
- Knowledge of MS Word, Excel and MS Project
- Ability to conceptualize client needs and translate into specific implementation strategies.
- Demonstrated breadth of project management skills with minimum of 3 years, up to and including 5 years, of experience managing multi-person applications development projects or equivalent, preferably in a vendor/competitive sales environment serving external clients.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills.
- At least 5 years of experience in managing IT related projects in a vendor setting.
- The ability to travel approximately 50% of the time as this is mainly an external client-facing role. Other work can be done from your home or our client’s offices. Most of the work will be in Montreal with travel mainly to Quebec and occasionally Ottawa.
