Senior Project Manager - Water Resources Engineering

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager specializing in Water Resources Engineering to lead our dynamic team in Austin, TX. This role is pivotal in planning, analyzing, and managing municipal water resource projects across Central Texas. The ideal candidate will bring a rigorous understanding of storm drain systems design, a proactive approach to project management, and a passion for sustainable water management practices, making a significant impact on local communities.

Salary: $145,000+ per year, depending on experience

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and train engineers and technical staff to ensure project objectives and timelines are met within budget constraints.
  • Prepare comprehensive plans, specifications, cost estimates, schedules, and necessary permits for all project designs.
  • Facilitate coordination between CAD teams and engineering design to ensure seamless project executions.
  • Collaborate closely with the marketing team to identify new business opportunities, prepare proposal contents, and develop marketing materials.
  • Work with financial teams on fee proposals, project forecasting, invoicing, and budgeting to maintain fiscal health of projects.
  • Hold regular project update meetings to monitor progress, address any issues, and ensure all team members are aligned with project goals.
  • Communicate effectively through technical documentation, presentations, and interviews to convey project intentions and results.
  • Occasional travel between project sites, primarily within Austin and San Antonio.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
  • Active Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license with at least 3 years of standing.
  • At least 12 years of modeling and drainage design experience or 10 years if possessing a Master’s degree.
  • Proficient in Microstation, OpenRoads Drainage, GEOPAK Drainage, Storm and Sanitary Analysis software.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and constructing storm drain improvement systems like culverts, bridges, and channel modifications.
  • Proven project management skills with ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Local project experience with municipalities and agencies within Austin, Travis County, Bexar County, City of San Antonio, SAWS, and San Antonio River Authority.
  • Familiarity with FEMA Flood Insurance Mapping processes and FEMA project workflows.
  • TxDOT pre-certifications are highly advantageous.
