About the Role

As Senior Project Manager, you will oversee a portfolio of construction projects while providing leadership and mentorship to multiple project teams to ensure successful delivery from pre-construction through project completion. Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, you will be responsible for maintaining strong client relationships, ensuring projects meet schedule, budget, and quality expectations, and driving consistency across project management practices. This role requires a seasoned construction professional who can lead complex projects, support Project Managers in delivering strong operational performance, and ensure profitability and client satisfaction across all projects within their portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership and Oversight

• Oversee multiple construction projects and ensure schedules, budgets, and profitability targets are maintained.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to Project Managers and project teams.
• Promote collaboration and consistency across project teams to ensure efficient project delivery.
• Ensure project teams are meeting commitments and completing tasks in a timely and organized manner.

Project Planning and Pre-Construction

• Participate in pre-construction activities and maintain strong client engagement during early project stages.
• Ensure a smooth transition from pre-construction planning to project execution.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to assemble project teams with the appropriate expertise and resources.

Financial and Operational Management

• Oversee project budgets, cost control systems, and financial forecasting across the project portfolio.
• Review project cost reporting and ensure consistency in financial management across teams.
• Monitor project profitability and address financial risks or challenges as they arise.
• Work closely with accounting teams to review project billing and maintain financial accuracy.

Contract and Risk Management

• Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with contractual requirements and company standards.
• Resolve escalated issues involving clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Oversee tendering processes and requests for proposals (RFPs) prepared by project teams.
• Ensure project documentation and procedures follow established protocols and best practices.

Client and Stakeholder Relationships

• Maintain strong relationships with owners, designers, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Serve as the escalation point for complex project issues involving key stakeholders.
• Support project teams in maintaining clear and effective communication with clients and consultants.

Team Development and Talent Management

• Mentor, coach, and support Project Managers and project team members.
• Conduct performance reviews and support the development of project management staff.
• Identify talent needs and support recruitment and onboarding of new team members.
• Ensure consistent training, development, and project management processes across all teams.

Education and Experience

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of project management experience within High-Rise or ICI construction.
• Demonstrated experience leading multiple project teams and managing complex project portfolios.
• Strong understanding of construction specifications, building materials, and construction methods.
• Advanced knowledge of cost control, procurement, contract administration, and project scheduling.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
• Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with project stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with Procore, Jonas, or Microsoft SharePoint.
• PMP certification considered an asset.
• Previous field experience within the construction industry.
• Gold Seal Certification considered an asset.
• Strong understanding of quality assurance practices and construction standards.
