Senior Project Engineer for Custom Automated Machinery

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the design process for customized automated machinery, handling everything from small solo projects to large-scale team-led projects.
- Allocate resources, break down large projects into manageable tasks, and clearly outline timeframe and expectations to the design team.
- Incorporate various technologies such as robotics, vision systems, welding, and controls into machine designs, tailoring to specific client needs.
- Consistently communicate project statuses with both customers and internal management, ensuring transparency and responsiveness.
- Oversee the integrity of the project budget and engineering design release schedule, implementing corrective actions as needed.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or related field with strong mechanical design skills.
- At least 5 years of experience in project design specifically for fully customized automated production equipment.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks for mechanical design.
- Solid grounding in welding, fixture design, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Demonstrable experience with direct client and supplier interactions.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in managing or leading project teams.
- Previous work with robotics, vision systems, and computer controls.
- Practical experience with data acquisition systems.
