Position: Senior Program/Project Manager - JP4516

Duration: 1 year contract

Job Description:

The successful candidate will manage the implementation of the CSA Client Focused Reforms (CFRs) in the Securities MFDA and IIROC member dealers. The scope of the role will include the development of business requirements, project plans and budgets, and, working with SMEs, IT and the business to develop and implement on the regulatory time requirements. The CFRs touch significant aspects of the advisor/client relationship, as well as dealer training programs, product review and shelf, processes and forms for client KYC gathering, and the determination of investment/account Suitability. Dealer supervision and record keeping will be impacted. Strong experience in leading regulatory change projects in a financial institution is required, and, direct experience in the securities industry is preferred.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage larger projects ensuring project deliverables are brought in on time, within budget and quality targets
  • Influence and contribute to successful change including new ways of doing business
  • Contribute to the change vision and strategy by modeling the required behaviors
  • Ensure proper change and release management for successful production implementations
  • Adheres to corporate project governance standards
  • Responsible for developing, coaching, advising and managing the project team
  • Responsible for securing resources for project work
  • Provide input into and manage the project budget
  • Provide input to scoping and planning and create overall project plan, including Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
  • Responsible for using Agile, Human Centre Design Experience to efficient business value
  • Effectively communicate with project sponsor and key stakeholders
  • Liaison between project team, project sponsor, business lead, and business
  • Manage multiple projects and corresponding resources across business unit
  • Manage vendor within defined contract parameters
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards
  • Evaluate and ensure appropriate systems development and project management processes are being utilized.
  • Ongoing management of project schedules, resources, and related financials
  • Facilitate the identification and resolution of project issues
  • Manage project related risks
  • Lead geographically and culturally diverse cross-functional teams
  • Assist with development of Gate documents
  • Prepare management reports for stakeholders (Sponsor, CRMs, Practice Lead, etc.)
  • Contribute to the development/improvement of Project Management Office (PMO) processes.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong understanding of business unit direction, functions, products and services

Education/Experience/Certification:

  • PMP Certification or near completion
  • 5–8 yrs project management, business analysis, development and/or consulting experience
  • Previous experience in successfully managing structured projects
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the insurance, financial industry
