SENIOR PRODUCTION MANAGER- ANIMAL HEALTH
Grasslands Recruitment Specialists is recruiting a full-time, on-site office-based experienced Senior Production Manager- Animal Health. This position will be based in rural SW Ontario and will work for a Canadian market-leading manufacturer of animal health medicants and other animal health care products. Our client is Health Canada licensed, FDA approved, and HACCP certified, and occupies a dominant position in their market.
In this full-time, permanent Senior Production Manager role, you will work closely to manage all aspects of production in the company, including maintenance, health and safety, and overall production of goods. You will be an integral part of an established and highly effective team- including the Production Director, Production Manager, Production Supervisors, Maintenance Supervisor and Materials Manager- that supports each other to ensure each member and the team together meets objectives and goals. In the near term, you will work closely with the Production Director during a transition period prior to their leave, to learn and master the position responsibilities, and with the Production Manager and Supervisors to understand the manufacturing processes at their various sites.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF THE SENIOR PRODUCTION MANAGER- ANIMAL HEALTH
As Senior Production Manager- Animal Health, you will work closely with the Production Director during a transition period prior to their leave. Going forward, you will report to the CEO of the company. In this varied role, you will have responsibility to oversee and manage multiple departments, including sanitation, manufacturing, maintenance, material management and health & safety, working closely with and managing the other members of the management team responsible for their areas of concern. You will manage warehousing, shipping, and receiving operations. Working with the production planning team, you will ensure that the production schedule meets requirements based on sales, inventory and forecast, and will ensure that sufficient production staff is available- hiring when needed. Appropriate staff training coupled with ensuring the safety of employees and equipment, is a key deliverable. With constant attention to quality, you will ensure operations are performed in compliance with GMP, HACCP and existing SOPs, updating and preparing new SOPs and master batch records as required, and ensuring deviations are documented and reported where necessary. Further, you will manage the maintenance of buildings and equipment, including preventative maintenance and outside contractors, investigating new equipment and upgrades to ensure production capacity is aligned with demand.

- 10 years of experience managing a successful team in a similar production and operations setting
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, and experience working within an environment governed by GMP, HACCP and SOP protocols
- A strong performance orientation, and ability to motivate and coach others to achieve their own full potential
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Sc. is strongly preferred as a minimum designation
- Ability to support a team to understand and implement a customer-oriented, quality-driven approach that upholds high standards and achieves a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Preference to live and work in a rural setting
