The Design Engineer works as a technical reference with various business units and functional areas across the organization to align on all project requirements and bring to the design team the inputs required to execute the project. Coordinates technical development from concept definition to production, including project scoping, simulations, tests, engineering builds. Provides technical guidance, support and coaching to engineering team to succeed in the projects.
Duties May include;
Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs
Develop and support the knowledge growth of the engineering team, providing Thermodynamic, Heat transfer and Refrigeration guidance and training, Work with the various business units across the organization to align with project requirements and bring to the design team all the inputs required to execute the project (VOE – voice of engineering), aligned with the consumer expectations (VOC- Voice of Consumer)
Work with cross functional team and evaluate quality improvement plan (QIP) and design for manufacturing (DFM) to be included in new product development testing
Work with PMO (Project Management Office) team to prepare and present deliverables for tollgate reviews
Lead and own the product developments in mega projects from Design Engineering team, providing technical insight and support, including engineering test results analysis, simulation analysis, trade-off analysis, decision making and report-out to leadership team
Guide the engineering team towards the design solutions and technologies that will be used in the project by performing testing and conducting several technical analyses with the objective to optimize the design and meeting regulatory and consumer requirements
Provide technical coaching, mentoring to a team of design engineers during the development and execution of the projects
Develop engineering test standards, specifications, and design guidelines.
Coordinate the development of main engineering documentation (DFMEA, Test Plan, simulation plan, design review workbook, etc.)
Lead and support design review meetings, stage gate and project reviews with cross functional team
Project Manager for new product development, responsibilities include to develop and manage new product development schedule, ensuring projects meet all requirements (cost, quality, safety, reliability, schedule, budget)
Assist is developing product design technology roadmaps
Define and implement continuous improvement activities, lean initiatives, and apply design for manufacturing (DFM) during design phase.
Proven experience of delivery of Major / Mega Projects
Experience working with global teams in different regions to deliver projects
Excellence Analytical and problem-solving skills
Positive attitude, strong leadership skills, verbal and written communication skills and ability to work across organizational functions.
Ability to prepare and deliver key program metrics and internal/external presentations
