Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the President of a leading third-party logistics and fulfillment company. The Industrial Engineer will work in a team environment and have responsibility for optimizing warehouse and facility layouts, design appropriate solutions taking into consideration VAS procedures, SKU data, labor process, inventory control, safety, quality control, work standards. Will utilize layout design software, and other related supply chain service requirements to identify cost, optimization, and process improvement opportunities in a pick pack ship environment. Analyze the results and organize in a clear and concise manner, present to executive management (internal and external), and then work with multiple departments to implement solutions. Duties include process analysis, data mining & management, tactical and strategic supply chain optimization. Develop and implement win-win tactical & strategic transformation initiatives to reduce cost with facility and warehouse designs. Outline each step in the fulfillment process, quantity of people, placement of people, layout of line, and determine UPH for each job. Challenge is to provide superior logistics solutions on a timely basis.

Background Required:
  • Progressive Industrial Engineering responsibility within 3PL & Fulfillment (3 years)
  • Project Management (racking, slotting, re-slotting, implementation, MHE, labor)
  • Process Improvement (time studies, labor productivity, throughput, inventory management, VAS quality)
  • Scheduling & Forecasting to set labor requirements
  • Analytical Skills (i.e. data collection, analysis, design, recommendation, root cause investigation)
  • Strong team, program and project management background with ability to oversee multiple projects
  • Interpretation of analytical and modeling results to develop solutions and pricing
  • Proficient in MS Access, Excel and Supply Chain WMS Software
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (Industrial Engineering, or equivalent)
  • Travel: Up to 25 %
  • Residence: Atlanta, GA (relocation assistance)
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • Education: MA (Industrial Engineering, or equivalent)
  • Familiar with Lean tools (i.e. A3’s, Value Stream Mapping, Continuous Improvement)
  • Familiar with statistical process control (i.e. Six Sigma, Lean principles)
