Personal Injury Law Clerk
Salary Based Upon Experience
Responsibilities:
· Draft/prepare and complete all necessary litigation documentation such as claims, defenses, motion records, pleadings, notices, affidavits, etc. in Superior Court and Small Claims Court, Court of Appeal
· Scheduling mediations, examinations, motions, pre-trials and trial dates, amongst other scheduling tasks
· Familiarity with Online Submissions Portal and Caselines
· Awareness of processes and deadlines for serving and filing court documents
· Ensuring all filing is organized and up to date on a daily basis, both physical and electronic
· Handle administrative details with respect to calendar and task management, client meetings, accounting, closing files and docketing
· Other administrative duties as required
Qualifications or Skill Required:
· Minimum of 10 years experience as in personal injury law
· Strong knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure
· Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, Adobe DC Pro and PCLaw
· Highly organized and strong attention to detail with the flexibility to accommodate work demands
· Ability to take initiative, prioritize and multitask
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment with a strong work ethic
· Demonstrate good judgment and utmost professionalism at all times and particularly when working under pressure
· Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and exercise discretion at all times
· Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
