Desired Skills/Experience:
- Experience working in a similar role with a focus on PCBA Design and Prototyping with a focus on Power Delivery (ideally with a mix of I/O and USB Power); experience with both analog and digital IC Design.
- Experienced with a mixture of PCB sizing and component selection; along with related knowledge-experience of resistors, capacitors and other components; experience selecting components for and then designing boards that will ‘fit’ into a limited space.
- Experience working in a similar Board-Design-Prototyping type role with ongoing communication and coordination with Board Houses for the purpose of high volume PCBA manufacturing.
- Solid Testing and Q.A. Experience including documentation and testing-for-traceability, test planning-debugging and component troubleshooting; should have experience with spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, signal generators, data analyzers, and/or similar PBCA testing tools; experience with EMI and EMC testing and documentation is strongly preferred.
- Experience working in a similar role where you have had ongoing communication with other teams and departments during the board design process (including mechanical engineering, software engineering, external clients, Sales, C-Level and others)
- Experience working with Altium Designer is preferred.
- Should have ‘at least some’ Embedded Coding experience ideally with the C programming language on a Linux platform and writing code surrounding Linux based microprocessors
- Fluent at reading and interpreting electrical blue prints, one line diagrams and electrical schematics; AutoCAD experience is required.
- Experience suggesting and advising changes and updates to PCB and related manufacturing processes; Experience coordinating with (feeding information back and forth to) Senior Management, Sales, Marketing, Board Houses, Technicians and directly with customers all for the purpose of clarification of production plans, delivery performance, quality performance, projects status, synchronization of design changes.
- A BSEE is preferred.
- Must Have Excellent Verbal and Written Communication skills; Must be well versed in MS Outlook, MS Word and have some exposure to MS Excel.
Pluses:
- Military, Avionics, or similar regulated industry board level design.
- Specialty or Sub-Specialty experience designing boards-for-power, power supplies or similar power focused boards and/or power-components on boards.
- I2S protocols and related board level components for audio transmission.
- Experience mentoring or training junior level engineers.
- Experience with the full electronics component manufacturing life-cycle (design through assembly and packaging stages).
