Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Regional Manager of a privately held customized logistics organization. Services include a full range of logistics offerings including dedicated contract carriage, transportation brokerage, warehousing and customized solutions.

The Senior Operations Manager - Phoenix is responsible for all aspects of fleet operations that includes 38 drivers & 4 office personnel to service 4 dedicated customers (2 flatbed & 2 truckload) in a Monday through Friday operation. Manages four PnL statements, one for each customer. Develops policies, programs, and procedures for efficient operation of transportation systems and terminal operations. First point of contact for operational information including delivery service issues, backhaul information, driver scheduling-availability, and challenges. Submits recommendations for development of and compliance with transportation policies, procedures, and Establishes & implements short-long range organizational goals, objectives, strategic plans, policies, and operating procedures. Conducts continuous analysis of vehicle & driver schedules to increase efficiency and to lower costs. Recruits, orients, trains, and monitors progression of new drivers. Makes recommendations and establishes programs to minimize turnover. Enforces compliance and administrative policies, procedures, safety rules, and government regulations. Directs operation and maintenance of equipment and communication systems. Analyzes costs and recommends cost control measures. Develops plans, policies, and budgets.

Background Required:
  • Dedicated Contract Carriage Account Oversight (5 years)
  • Multiple client P&L
  • Supervisory (4 or more Associates)
  • Fleet Management-Supervision of Drivers
  • Customer relation development (i.e. Account Management, Metrics, KPI’s, QBR’s)
  • Transportation management software & onboard technology
