They have engaged ROSS (www.getROSS.com) to help them recruit a C# .Net Software Engineer with experience developing high transaction systems. ROSS is a team of People Specialists helping companies align their People Strategy with their business growth. We provide remote or onsite HR and Recruitment solutions such as Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) and Recruitment Augmentation.

This company is profitable and stable with over 300 employees worldwide. You’d join their exciting and new technical centre of excellence in midtown Toronto.

Although highly desirable, you don’t have to know anything about sports betting; our client will fly you down to the Caribbean all-expenses paid for 1-2 months to teach you this domain.

 Responsibilities: 

• Designing and developing specialized applications for traders.
• Developing solutions for high-frequency business process automation.
• Server-side and client side development.
• Building applications to gather and integrate external market data.
• Developing prototypes.
• Integrating new solutions into existing platform.
• Troubleshooting and resolving production issues as needed.
• Working closely with Sports Traders, Statistical Analysts, and other Developers.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Degree in Software Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of work experience as Software Developer, including 3+ year using Microsoft .NET Framework (C# or VB.NET).
• Experience working on middle-tier components using technologies such as WCF or nservicebus or cqrs or WebAPI or message broker software like RabbitMQ or other comparable technologies.
• Experience building client side applications using WPF or WinForm.
• Strong experience building multithreaded applications.
• 2+ years of work experience using Microsoft SQL Server 2008 or above.
• Proven track record working on very high-frequency transactions systems and development of near real-time rule-based solutions.
• Strong ability to analyze user requirements and build systems according to business specifications.
• Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and work on for several different projects.

Desirable:

• Experience specifically in programming trading algorithms in the stock exchange domain, bond trading, and currency exchange – etc.
• Web development experience using ASP.NET.
• Knowledge of sports trading.
• Understanding of rules for American sports and soccer and passion for sports in general.
• Strong background in statistics.
• Monte Carlo Simulations and other technique to test probability models.
