Position Summary

Magellan Aerospace, Haverhill has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer. The successful incumbent will be seasoned in manufacturing processing of precision machined aerospace components. These parts involve tight tolerance turning, milling, grinding, splines, threads, deep-hole drill, balancing, coating processes, NDT, and heat treat. Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct the activities of other engineers to achieve engineering department objectives.
  • Create operations sheets, routings and 3D models
  • Tool design-Concepts for fixtures, gages, and special cutters
  • Implement new technologies for cost savings and process improvements
  • Competent in purchase order review and fulfilling of all requirements.
  • Disposition of nonconforming material and rework procedures.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or equivalent experience (4-5 years engineering experience in a manufacturing environment)
  • 10 years’ of experience with manufacturing processing of precision machined aerospace components. These parts involve tight tolerance turning, milling, grinding, splines, threads, deep-hole drill, balancing, coating processes, NDT, and heat treat.
  • Must be familiar with 3, 4, & 5 axis milling centers, VTL’s, horizontal lathes, and grinding machines.
  • Working in a manufacturing environment, knowledge of Aerospace specifications and GD&T are a must.
  • Proven experience leading new product introductions, process planning from start to finish, customer and operator interaction, establishing timelines, project flow, quality systems, etc.
  • High level of project management, teamwork, customer correspondence and project milestones
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be well versed in UG-NX2 or above.
  • Experience working with Sikorsky, Honeywell, GE, or Rolls Royce shafts is highly preferred
