Senior Litigation Law Clerk

Our client is seeking a legal professional with 10+ years of civil litigation clerk, with a focus in construction

Duties
  • Preparing and executing court filings
  • Accurately preparing legal documents and correspondence with minimal direction;
  • Drafting legal documents and correspondence;
  • Monitoring and calendarizing activities/deadlines and liaising with necessary internal and external parties regarding same;
  • Monitoring emails and responding to client inquiries in a timely manner under the direction of a senior professional or partner;
  • Maintaining, organizing, and updating the litigation department’s docket system of due dates for action and follow up; and
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • A post-secondary diploma or certificate as either a legal assistant, law clerk or paralegal;
  • 10+ years of civil litigation experience with focus in construction
  • Aptitude in Adobe and the Microsoft Suite is required;
  • Experience in intellectual property an asset;
  • A high degree of accuracy;
  • Professional oral and written communication skills;
  • Strong organizational skills;
  • The ability to coordinate and calendarize multiple deadlines, schedules and workflows;
  • Strong proofreading skills;
  • The ability to work alone and in a team environment;
  • The ability to multi-task within a fast-paced environment; and
  • Bilingualism in both French and English would be an asset.
