Senior Java Engineer, Healthcare Applications Experience Required, SME

please note: this is a hybrid role requiring 2-days per week of on-site in-person work in the Durham, NC area.

Desired Skills/Experience

• Senior Level Hands on Java/J2EE development experience (should be familiar with Classes, Objects, Operators, Data Types [primitive and non-primitive], execution processes, garbage collection, variables, interfaces, OOP, Experience with JVM and Spring Framework including Spring Boot;) and/or Hands On JavaScript/TypeScript/Angular experience within a 'modern-stack' development environment.
• Experience leading or participating in Coding Review Meetings where you have been the SME for Back-End, Front-End or Both.
• Experience working as the key-communicator/go-to person (voice of the coding team) for communication with Sales, Client-Success. Marketing, Product, External Clients and/or non-coding other teams is a strong plus.
• Experience working in (or the desire to work in) a Technical Leadership, Team Leadership or Software Engineering-Management Type role.
• Experience creating-designing-writing code for applications in the HealthCare or Hospital Domain....should be familiar Hospital Software Packages (EMR/EHR) type systems; experience with healthcare data integration tools (like HL7, FHIR or similar) is a strong plus.
• Experience working in a AWS based CI/CD Environment; experience working with Kubernetes is preferred.
• Experience with REST Web Services, JSON and/or XML
• A College Degree in Computer Science or a Related Field is preferred.

Pluses: (not required, nice to have)

• Experience writing software that compiles, runs and works on multiple Cloud Platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Experience and/or Willingness to work for a Smaller-Growing Company.
• Experience working for a Software Company.
• Experience with SCALA, NLP or other AI/ML tools within a java coding environment.
