Senior IT Field Support Technician

*Pay: $33/hr

*Candidate must have hands-on experience with Windows, Linux, Database and Networking Diagnostic.

*Must have strong knowledge of scripting language.

*Candidates must have reliable vehicle to travel to client location in the Sacramento area.

*The Field Engineer (FE) must be able to be on an On Call rotating basis during off hours*

DESCRIPTION:

To provide installation and post installation support of Solutions (e.g. Automated Fingerprint Identification Systems). Responsible for system support to include first/second/third level software support, as well as hardware support.

This position, should be at a level that permits and requires the individual to take control and make necessary decisions to resolve routine situations with minimal impact to the customer. In situations where critical system downtime may occur, with software or next level support not available at that point, the incumbent will be expected to act on self-initiative to make necessary corrective action, if possible, or take appropriate action up the chain management.

The Field Support Engineer provides installation, post installation and ongoing maintenance support at specified customer location. The FE level position is responsible for total system hardware and software support.

Mandatory Skills:

• Candidate must have hands-on experience with Windows, Linux, Database and Networking Diagnostic.

• Must exhibit professionalism - requires candidate to have excellent customer-facing experience, outstanding communication skills.
• Must have strong knowledge of scripting language. Self-motivated and a quick-learner.
• Candidate must be willing to travel to customer location (Sacramento area).
• Must be willing to take support calls after hours.
• Minimum 3 years experience for all required experience.
• Computer software/hardware troubleshooting skills.
• Must be able to work with internal and external (end users) teams
• There will be a customer criminal background check - candidate must pass.
