Bull City Talent’s direct client is looking for a high performing Senior HR Manager who is adaptable, personable, and results-oriented. The Senior Manager, Human Resources will ensure the effective delivery of human resources policies, practices and programs for the corporate office and field organizations. This position will ensure that critical, compliance and priority needs are met in a timely and effective manner to preserve business stability and a fair, equitable, healthy work environment. This individual will utilize a high level of proficiency and expertise in all areas of HR, and work with a high degree of autonomy.

Major Responsibilities and/or Essential Functions

Business Partnership

  • Serve as a business minded HR professional with a committed focus to details, follow up, and follow through including communication for the corporate office and field organizations
  • Provide support in conjunction with the Manager, Human Resources to functional leaders in employee relations, engagement programs, talent acquisition, corrective action procedures and terminations
  • Own the process, timeline and communication plan on all organizational / HR initiatives to ensure efficient, smooth and timely roll outs to the business; i.e. benefits enrollment, performance management, succession planning, wage reporting, EEOC reporting, etc.
  • Provide strategic HR partnership to organization to ensure the delivery of business goals and the attraction, development and retention of top talent
  • Deliver talent management initiatives such as succession planning, organization design, talent reviews and individual goal and development plans
  • Assist Finance and field leadership on process and financial guidelines (Ex: Expense management through proper headcount and structure, minimum wage impact, etc.)
  • Manage the annual goal and performance review process
  • Support (in conjunction with the Manager, HR) the field HR team and home office leaders and employees
  • Oversee the HR on-boarding and new leader assimilation for field and home office leaders
  • Conduct exit interviews of voluntary terminations; analyze trends and recommend solutions
  • Provide consultation, guidance and coaching to field and home office teams to ensure issue resolution and employee development
  • Maintain compliance and understanding of federal and state regulations concerning employment practices
  • Manage employee relations and performance management issues inclusive of conducting internal investigations, partnering with Loss Prevention and the corporate and/or field organization
  • Act as a liaison for employees on payroll & benefits changes and issues
  • Develop and maintain policy and procedures (including the company handbook and intranet) as needed
  • Support broader HR projects when necessary

Benefits & Operations

  • Review existing benefits programs and identify new opportunities that best meet our populations’ needs (including medical, 401k, etc)
  • Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures and reporting comply. (i.e. Exempt/Non Exempt, EEOC, ACA, Unemployment, Minimum Wage)
  • Monitor I-9 program administration and maintain an accurate filing system for all active and terminated employees to include E-Verify in certain states
  • Liaise with the Payroll department regarding new hires, pay discrepancies and follow up through to resolution

Knowledge, Skills, & Experience:

  • BS/BA required
  • 3-5 years of experience full cycle Human Resources delivery, HR Generalist experience
  • Experience in various other functions of Human Resources including but not limited to: Policy Management, Benefits Administration, Employee Relations, Recruiting, Compensation, Performance Management and Legal/Compliance is a plus
  • Track record as a strong business partner
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Familiar with HRIS metrics & various reporting/tracking systems
  • Proficiency in all MS Office programs
  • Ceridian experience is a definite plus
  • Retail experience a plus
  • Start-up and/or Digital experience is preferred
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to confidential material/issues
  • Ability to flourish in a fast-paced environment
