Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to Director of Logistics of asset-based logistics provider niched in temp-controlled produce founded in the 1980s. The company prides themselves on premium customer service and safety as it continues to build a reputation of one of the most admired and respected transportation organizations.
The Senior Freight Brokerage Manager will lead the tactical and strategic direction of the freight brokerage division. Will work in coordination with other company business units, develop the strategic and tactical direction for the unit, establish management processes and metrics for performance. Will implement strategies for client retention and growth, while ensuring the division’s short term and long-term goals are achieved. responsible for the complete sales process including prospecting, lead generation, pricing and closing the business. Responsible for drawing on unique competencies to demonstrate how the business can be beneficial to the customer. Ability to analyze, create presentations with experience working with customer service, and managing the startup process after the sale. Challenge is to build a world-class team, develop high-level service offering, motivate and lead staff while optimizing costs, increasing revenues, and maximizing profitability.

Background Required:
  • Freight Brokerage Customer sales, carrier sales, and account management (2+ years)
  • Modes of Transportation (i.e. Truckload, LTL, Specialized)
  • Strong Selling Skills
  • Strong Negotiation Ability (Carrier, Customer, Margin Integrity)
  • Develop and execute business plan strategies
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Suite: Power Point, Word, Excel)
  • Pricing and Margin for new business opportunities (RFP/RFQ responses)
  • Computer Skills (Microsoft Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Residence: Columbus, OH
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • Education: College Graduate-BA or BS (Marketing, Business or related field)
