We are seeking a meticulous and adaptable Senior Financial Controller to lead our comprehensive financial operations. This role offers the opportunity to oversee and manage multiple aspects of finance and accounting, including payroll, accounts payable, and strategic planning, as well as interactions with banking, insurance, and human resources. Salary: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform month-end closing processes, reconcile bank accounts, and ensure all journal entries are posted.
- Maintain and update Work in Progress (WIP) reports, track revenue, and manage adjustments based on superintendent feedback.
- Prepare and deliver financial reporting to various stakeholders, including external banks, ensuring compliance with all financial regulations and standards.
- Administer payroll processing for both field and office staff, handle tax deposits, and manage compliance with tax updates and employment laws.
- Oversee recruitment, training, and legal compliance for HR, including the management of sensitive employee documents and company policy implementation.
- Evaluate, negotiate, and manage comprehensive insurance plans, ensuring alignment with organizational needs and legal requirements.
- Review and approve all contractual documents, ensuring accuracy in insurance and billing requirements and maintaining project records.
- Manage retirement plans such as 401(k) and ESOP, including compliance monitoring and participant tracking post-termination.
- Responsible for asset management including tracking, depreciation, and reporting of fixed assets and inventory control.
- Lead all aspects of accounts payable, ensuring accuracy in vendor payments and financial records.
- Direct IT operations including server maintenance, equipment evaluation, and security management.
- Ensure compliance and safety regulations are met, managing relationships with legal and insurance providers to minimize risk.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and systems to optimize operational efficiency and accuracy.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Controller or similar leadership role in finance.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and financial reporting software.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
- High proficiency in areas of tax compliance, payroll, cash flow management, and financial analysis.
- Effective communication skills, with proficiency in English and Spanish preferred.
- Understanding of state and federal regulatory requirements related to payroll and taxes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification preferred.
- Experience in the construction or manufacturing industries is highly advantageous.
- Knowledge of job-costing and construction accounting methods.
- Ability to interpret and implement changes in tax laws and financial regulations.
- Experience with financial auditing and compliance management.
