Senior Financial Controller

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Senior Financial Controller to enhance our finance department. As a direct hire, this strategic leadership role involves overseeing all financial, accounting, and reporting activities within the company. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), this position is suited for a proactive leader who excels in a fast-paced setup. This role not only requires strong financial management skills but also demands excellent analytical and organizational abilities to support decision-making and foster business growth.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the entire financial planning and analysis spectrum, including managing the monthly accounting close process.
  • Ensure the preparation of precise monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with US GAAP.
  • Supervise the annual financial audit process, guaranteeing adherence to INSPECS financial policies.
  • Direct the annual budgeting and quarterly re-forecasting processes efficiently.
  • Handle annual and bi-annual IFRS reporting to adhere to international financial standards.
  • Develop and implement metrics for analyzing Gross Margin performance and identifying financial discrepancies or opportunities.
  • Enhance internal controls, aiming for maximized compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Manage inventory valuation and reconciliation tasks, including frame cycle counts and their results evaluation.
  • Handle vendor invoice approvals and ensure the prompt execution of state and federal tax payments.
  • Monitor and ensure sales and use tax compliance across multiple states.
  • Provide strategic financial insights that aid in executive decision-making and support long-term business growth.
  • Engage in cross-functional meetings to synchronize financial strategy with broader company objectives.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or Economics.
  • 5-10 years of experience in progressively responsible finance or accounting roles, preferably within a similar industry.
  • Demonstrated expertise in finance, budgeting, cost accounting, and compliance with GAAP.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiar with other MS Office applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills complemented by meticulous attention to detail.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA certification is highly preferred.
  • Experience in leading and managing a team within the financial sector.
  • Proven track record of improving financial processes and creating efficient financial reporting mechanisms.
