The Senior Financial Analyst will focus on supporting the FP&A team, providing strategic insights and financial modeling in support of R&D programs, clinical trials, partnerships, and corporate initiatives. The ideal candidate has strong financial acumen and understands the unique cash flow dynamics, funding cycles, and cost structures of a biotech organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with the creation of the monthly cash forecasts for the business by working with other stakeholders to compile the organizational view
- Primary modeling resource for the FP&A team to support forecasting requests, analyze performance as well as ad hoc questions and analyses
- Manage aggregation of monthly backlog files from the various business units
- Create and update the draft backlog forecast from the supporting files provided by other stakeholders
- Work with the business units to quality-check and verify results
- Prepare the periodic budgets and forecasts for the business using the backlog files as well as other supporting documents prepared in the business, including labor and indirect costs
- Prepare the monthly reporting decks and Excel templates to present to leadership and PE stakeholders
- Work closely with the VP of Finance on supporting analyses and build additional views as needed
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in a job-related area or equivalent relevant academic or vocational qualification
- MBA or CPA is preferred
- 5 years of relevant work experience in Finance/Accounting to include global Biopharma CRO industry experience
- Advanced level of skill in Microsoft Excel including financial modeling and PowerPoint for analysis and presentation of data
- Experience with PowerBI is a plus
- Extremely detail-oriented and possess the ability to process data while looking for inconsistences with other sources
- Ability to look at a current state situation and offer ideas on how to improve the processes
- Collaborative working style, ability to foster effective working relationships and build trust across a team environment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, matrixed, challenging environment with changing priorities
- Experience working in a private equity backed environment is a plus
- Good understanding of financial and accounting metrics and how they impact each other
- Ability to apply advanced knowledge, skills, and expertise to analysis
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills
- May travel between corporate locations
Compensation depends on experience: $100K-$120K per year.
