Position: SENIOR FINANCIAL ANALYST
Job Summary: The Finance Analyst role identifies solutions and influences business decisions based on sound financial analysis and communication. This position will serve in a full-time role as part of the accounting team working closely with sales, operations and management.
Essential Functions:
Acts as a financial advisor to the Logistics/Operations business team and Accounting/Finance. Provides financial support, including but not limited to the following:
- Owns the development and communication of the budget and forecast
- Provides timely analysis of financial performance with appropriate bridges showing key drivers for deviations from target (volume, price, country mix, etc.)
- Analyzes monthly spend, providing variances explanation to forecast
- Analyzes carrier billings to contractual agreements, 3PL
- Proactive in driving actions to maximize business opportunities or mitigate issues
- Supports the Strategic Plan process
- Supports the monthly forecasting process as well as the month end closing process
- Performs ad-hoc financial analysis as needed (i.e. network optimization, lane comparisons and total landed cost)
- Improves financial processes and information deliverables
- Develops the initial draft of standard business plan
- Drafts initial analysis of planning & forecasting, capital planning, target setting, and business performance as determined by senior leadership or the Business Unit and Service Delivery teams
- Identifies and implements updates to standard planning, budget, and forecast utilizing Excel and additional model templates
- Performs initial analytical assignments and prepares standard planning & forecasting deliverables under guidance of senior team members
- Communicates with stakeholders in a clear and concise manner
Required Educational and Experience Requirements:
- 2-3 years of experience as a Financial Analyst
- Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree or professional certification and 5+ years of progressive finance experience; Master’s Degree preferred
- Transportation Logistics background in this role is preferred
Required Competencies and Skill Sets:
- Ability to view and understand freight process (carrier through billing and recording processes)
- Strong oral and written communication skills; demonstrated analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to deliver presentations to senior level audiences
- Highly motivated and driven professional, able to manage multiple high priority projects simultaneously
- Strong work ethic. Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to drive cross functional results at all levels of the organization
- Detail-oriented and demonstrated ability to consistently meet tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Advanced PC skills required – Excel, Word and PowerPoint are essential
- Must be able to multi-task and balance priorities
- Strong financial & business acumen
- Strong compliance to company values & ethics
