The Opportunity

We are partnering with a real estate development and construction organization to identify a Senior Estimator who will play a critical role in delivering accurate, data-driven, and transparent budgets during preconstruction. This position is central to the success of projects from early concept through handoff to construction operations and offers meaningful influence over systems, data quality, and decision-making.

Role Overview

The Senior Estimator is responsible for creating, validating, and maintaining high-quality conceptual budgets and estimates across the preconstruction pipeline. This role collaborates closely with Preconstruction, Development, Design, and Construction Operations teams to maintain accurate cost data, improve estimating processes, and ensure seamless project transition from preconstruction to execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of conceptual budgets, detailed takeoffs, and estimates

  • Collaborate with Preconstruction leadership to maintain and update the Cost Catalog within Procore and/or Zebel

  • Develop and refine processes and tools to improve accuracy, consistency, and transparency of budgets

  • Perform QA/QC on bid tabs and estimating deliverables, including implementation of new features and standards

  • Maintain budgeting tools, schedules, and deliverable timelines to support efficient project throughput

  • Prepare and distribute estimating and budget reports across platforms including Procore, Dealpath, and Smartsheet

Additional Responsibilities

  • Review and audit prequalification processes and subcontractor data as needed

  • Participate in constructability reviews, page turns, and scope reviews during bidding

  • Monitor construction market trends and provide insight on cost drivers and pricing changes

  • Review and audit construction budgets when required

  • Partner with Construction Operations to validate cost data and pricing assumptions

  • Manage and present cost data in support of companywide initiatives and data platforms (e.g., Domo)

  • Attend development pipeline meetings and provide budgetary insight to development teams

  • Train and support team members on estimating software and tools

Experience & Qualifications

Required:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Estimator or Estimator with significant preconstruction responsibility

  • Strong analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and data visualization tools

  • High level of proficiency with Procore and estimating-related tools

  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications

  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously during preconstruction

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Preferred:

  • Experience with Zebel and Compass Prequalification software

  • Familiarity with Dealpath, Smartsheet, and enterprise data platforms

  • Experience supporting SOP development, training, or process improvement initiatives
