Senior Environmental Compliance Supervisor

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Environmental Compliance Supervisor to join our heavy manufacturing company located just 30 minutes northwest of downtown Nashville, TN. This key role involves overseeing environmental regulatory compliance across our various industrial segments within the United States. Salary: $120,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the development, implementation, and ongoing communication of the company’s environmental compliance strategies and systems.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to on-site EHS departments, ensuring adherence to all state and federal environmental regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the coordination and reporting on key compliance activities including major air source reporting, such as Title V, and overseeing the permitting processes.
  • Conduct compliance testing and Relative Accuracy Test Audits (RATA) across diverse manufacturing processes including glass production, paints, kilns, and driers.
  • Oversee environmental reporting and documentation related to EPCRA TRI, Tier II, and DMR water submittals, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all submissions.
  • Manage, identify, and mitigate risks associated with solid and hazardous waste at both state and federal levels.
  • Travel up to 50% to various company sites to supervise and audit environmental compliance measures.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in environmental engineering within the heavy manufacturing industry.
  • Technical proficiency in compliance reporting related to air, waste, and water regulations.
  • Extensive experience in handling environmental permits and major air source reporting, including Title V.
  • Strong analytical skills to conduct compliance tests and prepare accurate environmental reports.
  • Capable of working independently as well as leading and mentoring teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Professional certification relevant to environmental compliance such as Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) or similar.
  • Prior leadership role in environmental compliance or related department.
  • Experience with environmental compliance in the automotive, steel, or metals sectors strongly preferred.
