Position Overview
We’re seeking a Sr. Energy Engineer / Lead Project Developer to spearhead energy efficiency initiatives across the Midwest industrial sector. In this role, you’ll assess energy-saving opportunities, develop and present compelling proposals, and guide projects from concept through commissioning. You’ll also maintain strong client relationships while playing a key role in business development and strategic growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Assessments & Engineering Plans (40%)
-Conduct on-site evaluations of mechanical, electrical, and process systems.
-Identify, quantify, and document energy conservation measures (ECMs) with estimated savings. - Proposal Development (15%)
-Translate technical findings into clear, persuasive proposals that demonstrate client ROI and project deliverables. - Scope & Pricing Strategy (15%)
-Define project scope and prepare accurate pricing models for selected ECMs. - Project Commissioning (15%)
-Oversee commissioning ensuring installed solutions perform as designed and deliver promised results. - Sales Enablement & Business Development (15%)
-Support client acquisition and relationship building by engaging in client outreach, attending industry events, and collaborating on proposal strategies. -Play a consultative role in business growth—more trusted advisor than hard seller.

Qualifications
- Education
Bachelor’s in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Energy Systems Engineering. - Licenses/Certifications
PE and/or CEM preferred. Additional certifications like CEA, CMVP, LEED AP are a plus. - Experience
8+ years in energy engineering or project development, with direct experience in ASHRAE Level 2 & 3 audits (including Investment Grade Audits). - Energy Auditing Experience
Hands-on experience with ASHRAE Level 2 & 3 energy audits (including Investment Grade Audits). - Knowledge
Familiarity with ASHRAE, IESNA, NEC standards and current energy modeling practices. - Track Record
Proven ability to manage full project lifecycle—from proposal to implementation to closeout.
