Our client designs and manufactures engine driven industrial generators, chillers and heat pumps.

They need a Senior Electrical Test Technician to perform a diverse set of diagnostic electrical, temperature, pressure, and mechanical testing of products in their manufacturing facility.

The Senior Electrical Test Technician will play a critical role in developing, implementing, and maintaining robust test solutions for our advanced electronics products.

The Senior Electrical Test Technician is hands-on, who works thru each step of an analysis, including electrical test, non-destructive troubleshooting, environmental testing writing a detailed final report.

Responsibilities:

  • Learn and operate the available test equipment such as DMM, PQA, Oscilloscope, etc.
  • Work on several analyses concurrently.
  • Ensure tasks are performed on time, safely, and in a professional manner.
  • Participate and collaborate work with engineers in other disciplines
  • Train technicians and oversee testing of Chillers.
  • Establish and perform quality control inspection points for STX and DTX.
  • Perform Electrical Check out on all products.
  • Create or revise production documentation, develop test procedures and work instructions.
  • Oversee calibration program work with Metrology company collecting tools and schedule pick ups
  • Knowledge of 3 phase, single phase, DC power circuits, and control logic.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot repair electrical issues wiring, harnesses, PC boards control systems.
  • Ability to read schematics, ladder diagrams, and wire run lists.
  • Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of engines, generators and compressors is preferred.
  • Understanding of the principles of heat transfer, refrigeration cooling and heating applications a +.
  • Ability to record, extrapolate, report, and communicate data and test results.
  • Participate and collaborate across the company work with all disciplines
  • Identify chances to improve efficiency, reliability quality in assembly, manufacturing processes.
  • Implement process improvements for existing assembly methods.
  • Contribute to produce test plans and methods with Product and Test Engineering teams.
  • Participate in technical meetings
  • Set up, assemble, test, and install control system electronic hardware
  • Support and implement process documentation in a Manufacturing Execution System (MES).

Requirements::

  • 7 years’ experience as Test Technician performing circuit analysis, troubleshooting, and repairs.
  • 3 + years in the final test of industrial or heavy electrical equipment, power generation a plus.
  • Associate’s degree in engineering technology preferred not required.
  • IPC-A- 610, A-620 and J-STD-001 training preferred.
  • Experience using electrical test equipment and electronic component failure analysis
  • Excellent computer skills, familiar with networking, MS Office applications.
  • Hands-on experience in a workshop setting, including manufacturing, assembly, and prototyping.
  • Motivated, team-oriented, and passionate about engineering and manufacturing.
