About the Opportunity
We’re supporting a search for a Senior Electrical Engineer with an engineering and manufacturing organization in Maryland. This role will lead electrical system design from concept through production for advanced embedded electronics and power systems. The Senior Electrical Engineer will own design activity with limited supervision, including schematics, layouts, circuit analysis, component selection, prototyping, testing, documentation, and production support. This is a strong fit for an experienced electrical engineer with a deep understanding of power electronics, embedded systems, analog and digital circuitry, and high-reliability product design.
What You’ll Do
You’ll take ownership of electrical designs from early concept through production.
Key areas of focus include:
• Lead electrical system design from concept through production
• Create electrical schematics, layouts, and bills of materials
• Coordinate Design for Manufacturing activity with PCBA suppliers
• Perform worst-case circuit analysis and circuit simulations
• Complete electrical design de-rating analysis
• Design and document hardware architecture for high-reliability embedded applications
• Select and optimize microcontrollers, battery management, and charger management components
• Support existing products and production-level designs
• Collaborate across disciplines to support system integration and manufacturability
• Conduct electrical Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis
• Construct prototypes and document performance
• Identify design improvements and troubleshoot technical challenges
• Explore new and existing circuit designs
• Maintain awareness of customer requirements and product concerns
• Prepare technical reports
• Coordinate with suppliers and support design execution
• Support a culture of learning, openness, and accountability
Who You Are
You are an experienced electrical engineer who can independently own complex designs while collaborating effectively with a broader technical team.
You are comfortable developing new designs from scratch, updating existing products, supporting prototypes, and carrying designs into production. You bring strong analytical skills, sound technical judgment, and the ability to solve problems with limited supervision.
You would do well here if you are independent, collaborative, team-oriented, and comfortable in an environment that is laid-back but holds high expectations.
