Senior Electrical Engineer for Industrial Electrical Infrastructure
We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the maintenance, development, and optimization of our site's electrical infrastructure. This position offers the opportunity to work with a diverse range of high, medium, and low voltage distribution systems, electrical motors, VSDs, and UPS. You will provide technical leadership, oversee failure analysis, and ensure compliance with national standards while fostering continuous improvement in safety and efficiency.
Salary: $130,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Act as the subject matter expert for all site electrical infrastructure including high, medium, and low voltage distribution systems.
- Lead technical assessments, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical components such as switchgears, cables, transformers, and MCCs.
- Develop and implement long-term improvement plans to enhance the reliability of the plant's electrical infrastructure.
- Conduct reliability studies and failure analysis using RCFA, delivering corrective action plans for system optimization.
- Provide specifications for electrical infrastructure design studies and validate project scopes and feasibility assessments.
- Create and manage a 5-year capital plan for all electrical infrastructure needs, integrating into the broader plant capital project portfolio.
- Develop and enforce electrical infrastructure standards that maximize reliability, efficiency, design, and spare parts management.
- Audit and oversee contracted repair organizations, ensuring adherence to established quality and safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and all organizational levels, providing strategic insights and operational updates.
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and industry-specific regulatory standards and best practices including RAGAGEPs.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in electrical infrastructure management covering design, repair, maintenance, and reliability.
- Proficient in reliability tools such as RCFA and FMEA.
- Solid understanding and application of industry standards such as NFPA 70 (NEC), ANSI/NETA, IEEE, and PIP.
- Experience with industrial control systems including PLCs, DCS, motor controls, and process communication networks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degrees or professional certifications related to electrical engineering or asset management.
- Proven track record in leading electrical infrastructure projects and managing large scale budgets.
- Strong leadership skills and experience in strategic planning and execution.
Skills:
- Expertise in interpreting electrical diagrams/schematics and loop drawings.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical infrastructure design, maintenance, and safety protocols.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, capable of preparing detailed reports and presentations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
