Senior Electrical Engineer - Rochester, NY

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to enhance our multidisciplinary team in Rochester, NY. Salary: $95,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead multidisciplinary projects to design, develop, and test cutting-edge electrical solutions fulfilling specific customer needs.
  • Drive the development of technically sophisticated manufacturing solutions, ensuring the alignment with project goals and timelines.
  • Design and develop integrated hardware and firmware systems from initial concept to high-volume production.
  • Create detailed electronic board designs, implementing communication protocols such as I2C and SPI.
  • Utilize Altium Designer eCAD software for complete schematic capture and layout design activities, ensuring precision in high-speed signal routing and impedance matching.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering professional growth and promoting deep technical expertise across the team.
  • Research and advocate for innovative technology applications and system design architectures to lead future projects.
  • Handle complex analog circuit design and firmware development tasks, utilizing C programming and VHDL for FPGA development.
  • Apply MATLAB and Python for extensive data analysis and simulation tasks, enhancing model accuracy.
  • Explore prototyping options using 3D printing to streamline product development phases efficiently.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar technical area, with a Master's degree being highly preferred.
  • A minimum of 8 years' experience in a related role, preferably in a technical lead capacity within manufacturing or industrial sectors.
  • Demonstrated capability in high-speed, impedance-matched PCB design and layout.
  • Thorough expertise in embedded systems, including comprehensive hardware/firmware integration.
  • Advanced proficiency with Altium Designer for all aspects of PCB design and schematic capture.
  • In-depth experience with FPGA programming in VHDL and firmware development in C.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard communication protocols such as I2C and SPI.
  • Proven ability in analog circuit design and problem solving within electronic systems.
  • Effective utilization of software tools like MATLAB or Python for advanced computational and analytical tasks.
  • Experience with rapid prototyping tools, including 3D printing technology.
  • Very strong analytical, troubleshooting, and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience leading projects from conception through to production in a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Previous mentorship or team leadership experience in an engineering setting.
  • Continuous engagement with emerging technologies and their application in industrial processes.
  • Advanced certifications or continued education in electrical engineering or management.
