Our client is one of the largest privately-owned (and American-owned) metal buildings manufacturers the industry. They are seeking Senior Drafters to help them continue on their quest of being the best PEMB company in the world.

The Senior Drafter for our client is responsible for preparing accurate and complete documents and drawings for plant fabrication and builder erection of materials. This role involves mentoring other drafters, ensuring compliance with company practices, and maintaining effective communication with project management and engineering teams. The Senior Drafter will handle moderate to high complexity orders and assist in improving the performance and quality of drafting documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare documents and drawings for plant fabrication and builder erection of materials.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of drafting provided, including all appropriate drawings and documentation.
  • Mentor other drafters and employees on application and compliance of our client's practices.
  • Assist other drafters by answering questions, giving direction, and providing feedback on their documents.
  • Maintain computer literacy in AutoCAD, MBS, IFS, and other tools/systems.
  • Prepare erection drawings with accurate part identification, quantities, and complete sections and details for proper installation of materials.
  • Prepare legible and easy-to-comprehend fabrication documents.
  • Maintain good communication with project management, engineering, and drafting department personnel during the drafting process.
  • Develop and maintain a high productivity rate with low errors, ensuring projects are completed on or before the scheduled due date.
  • Provide feedback upon reviewing/checking drafting documentation prepared by Drafting Apprentice or Drafter I.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on multiple drafting processes and product applications.

Wage depends upon experience, but typically ranges between $25 and $40 per hour, and you can expect 40-50 hours per week.
