Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Divisional President of Logistics for a $1.5 billion logistics provider, with services including Freight Brokerage, Transportation Management, Ocean & Air Freight Forwarding, Customs Brokerage, Ground Expedite, and Technology. Their mission is to deliver innovative, customer-obsessed logistics solutions by simplifying logistics.

The Senior Director of Sales be responsible for developing and maintaining a book of business by identifying sales opportunities, closing the sale, and building long lasting customer relationships in a competitive, fast-paced industry. Will be responsible for the closing and development of profitable new business and coordinating with Account Management team to implement the customer’s solution and onboarding. As a senior level commercial leader of the organization, this position is responsible for contacting high-profile, prospective customers and selling cross divisional solutions to the prospective clients; the nature of accounts tends to be cross-divisional and high velocity. Will engage with customers post-sale via account reviews and quarterly meetings to prove ROI, create new value, and educate/train client teams. Will also work with Pricing Analysts, and Operations team to create business solutions and long-term business relationships with perspective new customers. Will design and implement an organizational structure for the division, including sales, business development, and account management, maximize efficiency and meet organizational strategy. Will open revenue and operational growth opportunities with existing customers. Additionally, will develop and implement processes for new business development that ensures high level of customer service and customer retention after onboarding. Challenge is to successfully grow new and existing customer accounts by providing superior service and ensuring best practices are being utilized by all team members, while increasing revenues and improving profitability.

Background Required:
  • Progressive senior level experience within Freight Brokerage (10 + years)
  • Sales and business development within Freight Brokerage (6+ years)
  • Management – hire, train, staff, coach, mentor
  • Service offering (i.e. Truckload, LTL, Dry Van, Reefer, Intermodal, flatbed)
  • Regional and National accounts experience
  • Strong Selling and closing capabilities
  • Experience presenting to C-level executives
  • Strong Negotiation Ability (Customer, Margin Integrity)
  • Contractual Business Process (RFP, RFI, RFQ)
  • Develop and execute business plan strategies
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Suite: Power Point, Word, Excel)
  • Residence: Open US (Home Office)
