Senior Diagnostic Ultrasound Sonographer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Diagnostic Ultrasound Sonographer to join our dynamic medical team in San Francisco, California. This full-time role offers a competitive salary ranging from $165,000 to $200,000 per year, alongside a comprehensive benefits package, signing bonus, and paid relocation. In this critical position, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic sonograms to visualize anatomy and pathology, contributing directly to patient care by providing essential diagnostic information. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in abdominal and OB/GYN sonography, flexibility in scheduling, and the ability to adapt to various medical center environments and shifts.

Salary: $165,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Obtain detailed patient clinical information prior to performing exams.
  • Prepare patients, rooms, and ultrasound equipment for imaging procedures.
  • Perform high-quality diagnostic sonograms efficiently, capturing clear images for interpretation.
  • Provide a critical eye on ultrasound exams, identifying any sub-optimal techniques and addressing equipment malfunctions.
  • Support the physical requirements of the role, including performing portable exams and assisting with patient transfers.
  • Maintain and renew RDMS credentials as per American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography standards.
  • Provide coverage for various shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call responsibilities as required.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • ARDMS certification in Abdomen and OB/GYN specialties.
  • BLS - Basic Life Support certification.
  • Graduation from a CAHEEP accredited ultrasound program.
  • 2-5 years experience in diagnostic medical sonography or equivalent experience in a similar ultrasound department.
  • Professional capability to adjust to different schedules and rotating shifts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in pediatrics and hospital environments.
  • Proficiency in additional ultrasound procedures including thyroid scans, transplant assessments for kidney, liver, and pancreas, and sterile procedures.
