Job Description

A leading cybersecurity solutions provider in Ghana is looking for a Senior Cyber Security Engineer to assist in the implementation of cyber security projects, conduct cyber security assessment and provide Information Security Professional Services to stakeholders. The ideal candidate must have strong hands-on experience in security architecture, risk assessment, incident response, and security frameworks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with customers’ IT/Security teams to implement cyber security solutions.
  • Implement, Configure, Manage and Monitor Information Security solutions, such as Privilege Account Management system, NAC solution, Anti-fraud system
  • Create and maintain design documentation, including sitebooks, policies, processes, and procedures to facilitate the resolution of cybersecurity incidents and implementation of projects.
  • Provide Information Security Professional Services such as security assessment and presenting results to stakeholders.
  • Perform periodic reviews of security device configurations such as firewalls review, user access rights and remote accesses review, mobile devices and software installed on the network.
  • Lead and supervise cyber technicians on big projects.
  • Perform periodic vulnerability assessments, Gap analysis based on customer directives and Risk assessments, penetration testing for in-house and Web-Applications for customers.
  • Generate and compile periodic and situational reports on security incidents for management, clients and other stakeholders

COMPETENCIES

Educational Qualifications and Experience
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Security, Electrical Engineering or related Degree OR Extensive working knowledge + certifications in Lieu of Degree.
  • Minimum 5 years work experience in Cyber Security
  • Must have IT Security Fundamentals, experience in the administration of Windows and Linux OS’s, and general databases knowledge, as well as general network knowledge.
  • Proven security experience or familiarity with the Security standards, Cyber security tools and typical vulnerabilities.
  • Desirable certifications such as MCSA, CCNA, Linux+, Security+, CEH, CHFI, CISSP, CISA, CISM and equivalent
Technical
Mandatory
  • Good working knowledge of basic mathematics
  • Good working knowledge of networking, TCP/IP and common services (like HTTPS, SSH)
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills and a desire to tackle complex problems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to analysis of security events and alerts for incidents determination or suspicious activities.
  • Decision-making for high criticality events.
  • Ability to exploit recognized vulnerabilities
Optional:
  • Working knowledge of OWASP TOP 10, PCI-DSS, ISO 27001
  • Able to communicate technical issues to non-technical personnel
  • Ability to exploit recognized vulnerabilities
  • Familiar with Kali Linux and assessment tools (Nmap, Metasploit, and DirBuster etc.)
  • Familiar with setting up configuring virtual environments (VMware)
