Carolina PRG has partnered with a global, billion-dollar manufacturing organization seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to join its growing finance team. This role will be a key business partner to Operations, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain, responsible for providing accurate product costing, inventory accounting, financial analysis, and operational reporting. Responsibilities
- Lead cost accounting activities for multiple manufacturing facilities, ensuring accurate product costing and inventory valuation.
- Prepare and analyze monthly manufacturing cost reports, including material, labor, overhead, and production variances.
- Support the month-end close process by preparing journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, inventory roll-forwards, and financial reporting.
- Analyze standard costs and partner with Operations to maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings, and cost structures.
- Monitor inventory transactions, cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory reserve analyses while ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Partner closely with Plant Leadership, Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, and FP&A to identify cost savings opportunities and improve operational performance.
- Perform margin analysis, profitability reporting, and cost modeling to support strategic business decisions.
- Support capital expenditure reporting and fixed asset accounting for manufacturing operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- 4+ years of experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory accounting, standard costing, and manufacturing financial reporting.
- Experience supporting month-end close and financial statement preparation.
- Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and internal controls.
