Job Summary

The Senior Consulting Specialist & Licensing SME will be responsible for focusing on:

  • application deployment, custom code development, and sustainable application architectures.
  • the implementation of Flexera’ industry-leading FlexNet Manager solutions, by providing Software Asset Management (SAM) strategy consulting.

Responsibilities and Duties

The job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Responsible for achieving 85% utilization per quarter
  • Deliver 3-5 client projects on time and on budget per quarter
  • Familiar with advanced data architectures and application architectures
  • Thrive in a strong customer-servicing ethos
  • Develop strong relationships with larger clients; maintain key relationships that contribute to services up-sell opportunities
  • Stay current with ever-changing publisher license models/technologies

Qualifications and Skills

Minimum Education & Experience:

  • A bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science or software engineering.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of customer-facing/consulting experience

Minimum Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities:

  • Must have a current Secret clearance.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must have a valid/current driver’s license
  • Knowledge about software deployment, device inventory, software asset management (SCCM, Altiris, ADDM)
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts
  • Understanding of Relational Databases (primarily SQL Server)
  • Ability to write SQL queries
  • Expertise in Microsoft stack of technologies (including SQL Server, Windows, Active Directory, IIS)
  • Understanding of Cloud/Virtualization technologies (VMware, XenApp, XenDesktop, AppV, etc.)
  • Expertise in Software Asset Lifecycle Management (ITAM)
  • Knowledge of Software Asset Management best practice
  • Ability to interpret software contracts/EULA
  • Ability to use initiative to identify and pro-actively resolve issues
  • Thorough understanding of various vendor license models (Microsoft, IBM, SAP, Oracle, Symantec, VMware, Adobe, etc.)
  • Knowledge of software deployment, device inventory, asset management
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers
  • Ability to work within a team to meet established project goals
  • Ability to communicate professionally, concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to generate technical but user-friendly procedural documents

Preferred Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities:

  • Ability to build reports using Cognos, SQL, or similar technology
  • Knowledge about enterprise security
  • Data warehouse technologies
  • XML
  • Scripting skills (Powershell, VB Script, Perl, etc.)
  • Experience with software asset management
  • Knowledge about various vendor license models
  • Prior experience with Software Audits / Compliance
  • Experience dealing with software procurement & vendor management
  • Project management skills

Working conditions

This position may require remote work (work from home), on-site support, and a shifted schedule to accommodate Central (CST) business hours. Employee must be able to manage workload, complete tasks, and communicate effectively without direct supervision. Employee must be able to travel to fulfill the duties of this position.
