Opportunity:
Our Client is looking for an outstanding Senior Commercial Title Examiner to join the team in Michigan. The Senior Commercial Title Examiner is responsible for accurately and promptly creating title commitment documents for all real estate transactions. Accuracy, thoroughness, and sound decision making are critical because the quality of examining directly influences Company liability. Attention to detail and organizational skills enable the position to complete the examination process in a timely manner.
Responsibilities:
• Live out Client’s Mission, Vision, and Values
• Perform title examination and examines the chain of title for a wide range of title orders
• Prepare initial title commitment docs. Perform Blind Peer Review of commitments as needed to ensure accuracy of documentation
• Resolves issues such as missing information, incomplete, inaccurate, or contradictory information contained in the title documentation
• Perform analysis of records, such as leases, subleases, liens, judgments, easements, vital statistics, and plot and map books
• Determines ownership and legal restrictions to verify legal description of property and completeness of records
• Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
• All other duties as assigned
Requirements Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
• A minimum of 5 years’ progressive experience as a Commercial Title Examine, required
• Bachelor’s degree, preferred (High School Diploma with years of experience, accepted)
• Michigan Title Producer's License, required
• Michigan Resident, required
• Ability to read and interpret maps
• Ability to interpret complex legal documents to obtain and understand legal property descriptions
• Basic familiarity with standard Microsoft Office Software including Outlook, Word, Excel
• Experience using title systems ResWare, ProForm Select, etc.
• Proficiency in title plant search systems
