We are a leading mid-sized law firm with offices in the tri-state area and Florida, specializing in a comprehensive spectrum of legal practices. We are dedicated to providing exceptional legal services and are in search of a Full-time Senior Commercial Litigation Paralegal to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive approach and a meticulous attention to detail to handle complex litigation cases. This position offers the opportunity to play a crucial role in our litigation process, requiring a skillful individual familiar with every phase of the discovery process, legal research, and case management.
Salary: $65,000 - $90,000 per year
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Draft and manage correspondence and legal documentations such as briefs, pleadings, and appeals.
- Organize, manage, and update client files both electronically and in paper form; ensure all legal documents are filed and catalogued properly.
- Conduct comprehensive indexing and summarization of case documents and depositions.
- Perform detailed legal and factual research using databases like Lexis and Westlaw.
- Provide discovery and substantive motion support, including document review and preparation of discovery requests and responses.
- If capable, oversee junior paralegals and administrative aspects within the legal team.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of direct experience in litigation.
- Exceptional organizational and meticulous follow-up abilities.
- Aptitude in managing multiple, competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing accurate and quality work.
- Experience handling large volumes of documents in complex litigation cases.
- Proficiency in using Lexis, Westlaw, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Acrobat Professional.
- Must possess a Bachelor’s degree; a Paralegal Certificate is strongly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Administrative experience, particularly in a legal set-up overseeing other paralegals.
- Advanced certification or training in legal software applications.
- Prior experience working in a mid to large-sized law firm.
- Strong familiarity with E-Filing in both federal and state courts.
- Experience in cite-checking and Shepardizing legal documents.
