Join one of the most dynamic financial services teams in D.C., where high performance meets a collaborative, energetic culture. We’re a fast-growing investment firm seeking a Senior Associate with strong accounting fundamentals and public accounting experience (Big 4 or Top 10 preferred) to support the financial operations and reporting of our managed investment funds.

This is a prime opportunity to accelerate your career with a high-visibility role in a young, motivated, and collaborative team. You’ll work closely with senior leadership and gain exposure to all facets of fund operations, investor relations, and portfolio reporting in a high-growth environment.

What You’ll Do

As a key member of the Finance team, you will:

  • Prepare and review quarterly and annual financial statements and supporting workbooks for multiple investment vehicles in accordance with US GAAP and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with the Investor Relations team to respond to investor inquiries and support ongoing fundraising efforts by preparing data-driven financial reports and documentation.
  • Lead the preparation of capital call and distribution notices, ensuring accurate allocation of capital activities to limited partners and maintaining clear investor communication.
  • Support the quarterly valuation process by gathering data from portfolio companies, preparing valuation workpapers, and presenting findings to senior management.
  • Monitor fund liquidity and cash flow, including initiating capital transactions, forecasting capital needs, and reconciling investment funding and distributions.
  • Record journal entries for fund-level accounting transactions including cash activity, accruals, amortizations, and management fee calculations.
  • Enhance financial operations and internal controls, maintaining well-organized documentation and contributing to the development of more scalable processes.
  • Coordinate with third-party service providers including external auditors, tax advisors, custodians, and valuation agents to ensure timely and accurate deliverables.
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis and special project support for the CFO, Controller, and broader finance team.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or progress toward CPA strongly preferred
  • 2–5 years of experience in public accounting preferably with exposure to private equity, venture capital, or alternative asset management
  • Big 4 or Next 4 firm experience is highly desirable
  • Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and investment fund structures
  • Exceptional Excel skills; experience with fund accounting software or ERP systems is a plus
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills — able to work cross-functionally and present to leadership
  • A self-starter with a growth mindset and an interest in building a long-term career in investment management
